The VI International Arctic Forum "The Arctic — Territories of Dialogue" had a multiplier effect on the economy of the Murmansk region. This was announced today by the head of the region, Andrey Chibis, during an operational meeting.

"Restaurants, small businesses, tourist and cultural facilities have received increased demand from the influx of guests. The participants especially noted the well-coordinated organization and high level of service. This is an important factor, thanks to the entire team that prepared cultural, sports, and tourism facilities. I thank our business for not only providing comfort, but also strengthening the image of the Murmansk region as an attractive venue for large—scale events!" said Governor Andrey Chibis.

The head of the region noted that the International Arctic Forum brought together more than 1,300 participants from Russia, India, China, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, Switzerland, Singapore, and the Philippines. 21 countries were represented at the forum.

"It is quite obvious that the guests will return to the Murmansk region to get to know it better. Therefore, the IAF is not only a vibrant business, cultural and sports event, it is a foundation for the future: the growth of tourist traffic, the construction of new accommodation, catering and tourism facilities. According to preliminary estimates by experts, the forum brought in more than 300 million rubles to the entire sector of the economy. It is important that we also tried to make the IAF a holiday for all residents of the region: a variety of interactive platforms were open on weekends. For example, about 25,000 people visited the Taste of the Arctic. I would like to note that this whole holiday was organized at the expense of extra—budgetary funds, thanks to our partners, in the future many infrastructure, including the whale that the northerners love, will remain in the region," the governor concluded.

On March 26-27, Murmansk hosted the VI International Arctic Forum "The Arctic is a territory of dialogue" under the slogan "Live in the North!" Business, cultural and sports programs were held within the framework of the forum. The participants looked for new ways of development for the Russian Arctic zone, exchanged experiences and successful practices, and put forward ideas and initiatives.
