Alexander Novak and Andrey Chibis discussed the progress of gasification in the Murmansk region

A working meeting between Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak and Governor Andrey Chibis on gasification of the Murmansk region took place in Moscow.

Recall that the issue of gasification of the region turned into a practical plane after a working meeting between Andrei Chibis and Vladimir Putin in the summer of 2022: the President of Russia supported the initiative of the governor of the Murmansk region.

Thanks to this decision, it became possible to build Murmansk LNG, a marine transshipment complex for liquefied natural gas. Murmansk LNG will increase the efficiency of logistics and competitiveness in the global market of LNG projects implemented on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as increase the cargo turnover potential of the Northern Sea Route.

The Murmansk Region gasification project provides for the construction of a gas pipeline with a total length of about 1.3 thousand km. As part of the implementation of related projects, it is planned to create a large number of new jobs. Gasification will close the issue of fuel oil dependence of the region and will be an impetus to the development of industrial production at a different technological level.
