The Governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrei Chibis, continued the work program in Minsk with a meeting with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences, the country's leading scientific center. The head of the region got acquainted with the developments of Belarusian scientists, who have received recognition far beyond the borders of the republic.
We discussed specific areas of cooperation with the academy's management: technologies for working in Arctic conditions, processing of mineral raw materials, and environmental safety. They also discussed the prospects of Belarusian scientists participating in projects of the International Scientific and Educational Center in Svalbard, joint expeditions and training specialists to work in the high-latitude Arctic.
"Communication in the scientific field and in the student field will allow us to discover, create, and introduce new things. And, of course, we want to identify areas where we can be mutually beneficial. I am convinced that the partnership between the Murmansk Region and Belarus in the scientific and educational sphere is another strategic investment in the future of our countries," said Andrei Chibis, commenting on the prospects for scientific cooperation.
In addition, during the working program in Minsk, the governor visited the management of the Belarusian Railway, where issues of developing logistics links and integrating transport systems for the efficient operation of the Northern Sea Route were discussed.
