Governor Andrey Chibis held a working meeting with representatives of Sistema Group of companies. The parties discussed cooperation and new areas of cooperation in the Murmansk region.
AFK Sistema and the companies included in its contour have long been reliable partners of the Murmansk Region, together we are implementing a number of important projects for the region, and we look forward to expanding cooperation. In addition to the work on the Kosmos hotel, cooperation has already emerged between our entrepreneurs who extract marine bioresources and supply them to facilities, including catering facilities, managed by a group of companies. Today we will discuss the work on existing projects, as well as identify new growth points, primarily in housing construction, as well as digitalization, the introduction of AI, and the development of the hospitality industry," said Governor Andrey Chibis.
The head of the region recalled that the Murmansk Region is a region open to innovation and investment. The preferential regimes of the TOP "Capital of the Arctic" and the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation are in effect. The government team is constantly expanding the list of business support measures, creating comfortable conditions and improving the investment climate. Over the past six years, the total investment in the region has amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles. Moreover, the region's investment portfolio until 2035 includes projects with a total investment of 3.2 trillion rubles. Despite the sanctions pressure, the Murmansk Region is showing steady growth and development. The region ranks 20th in Russia in terms of quality of life, which indicates a constant improvement in social infrastructure and living conditions. The flow of tourists to the region is growing every year.
In addition, the topic of housing construction is actively developing.
"We are very grateful to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for his support of the Arctic Mortgage initiative. This gave a serious boost, and the financial model began to take shape. For our part, we provide tax incentives, land plots, where necessary, we take on the costs of new infrastructure. Everything to make it profitable for people to buy housing, and for the developer to build. The combination of measures provided by the Murmansk Region makes it possible to do this," the governor stressed.
Sergey Semkin, Vice President for Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Development at AFK Sistema, noted that the company highly appreciates the economic development of the region and the prospects for cooperation.
"Many businesses that are part of the AFK Sistema circuit are already in the region, such as the largest hotel operator Cosmos Hotel Group, which has a hotel here. We assessed the real economy of the Murmansk region, saw the growth of business activity, tourism, and the shortage of hotel rooms. A decision has been made to renovate an existing hotel, and a new one needs to be created. A joint project is being worked out on the basis of the Shakhter hotel, and we are also considering the site proposed in Teriberka for a hotel and cottage facilities. It's really beautiful there, one of the best places in Russia. We are conducting an expert examination, studying the materials, and preparing to calculate the economics of the project. From the point of view of the hotel type, we are interested in at least three large facilities in the region," said Sergey Semkin.
They also talked about development opportunities, including in the field of digitalization of various services in the Murmansk region.
