Governor Andrey Chibis held a working meeting with Svetlana Panfilova, Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, during which she reported on the main economic indicators of the region and priority projects.
First of all, the head of the region touched upon the issues of gasification. Recall that the President of Russia supported the initiative of the governor of the Murmansk region on gasification in the summer of 2022. Thanks to this decision, it became possible to build a marine transshipment complex of liquefied natural gas, which will increase the efficiency of logistics and competitiveness in the global market of LNG projects implemented on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as increase the cargo turnover potential of the Northern Sea Route.
"The Murmansk Region gasification project provides for the construction of a gas pipeline with a total length of about 1.3 thousand km, and more than 20 thousand jobs will be created as part of additional projects that will be launched due to gasification. Based on the results of the meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, we are updating the list of priority potential consumers, their volumes and deadlines. Data on them will be included in the program of gasification of the Murmansk region. In addition, cooperation with companies continues on the detailed elaboration of projects. A separate task is the synchronization of all processes and participants," Svetlana Panfilova said.
One of the significant results was the intensive development of the first TOP "Capital of the Arctic" in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, created on the initiative of the government of the Murmansk Region in 2020, as well as the Arctic zone regime.
"The Murmansk Region remains the absolute leader in the number of residents of the Russian Arctic: today there are 226 of them, of which about 94% are SMEs. Residents of the TOP "Capital of the Arctic" are 8 companies. In total, residents of both preferential regimes have already invested about 205 billion rubles of investments and created more than 4.5 thousand jobs. To date, four projects of residents of the TOP and 38 projects of residents of the Russian Arctic have been fully implemented. We not only attract new residents, but also provide comprehensive support for projects of existing residents," said Svetlana Panfilova.
The Minister also noted that the work of these two preferential regimes contributes to a comprehensive and qualitative change in the living conditions and self-realization of residents necessary to ensure sustainable socio-economic development in the long term.
In addition, Governor Andrey Chibis instructed to pay special attention to the issue of the implementation of the law, which gives the subjects of the Russian Federation the right to set a time limit for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages at catering facilities located in apartment buildings and adjacent territories.
"It is very important to comprehensively study the issue and develop effective proposals for the implementation of new powers, taking into account the opinion of the public and the interests of business," Andrei Chibis stressed.
