The Murmansk Region shared its experience in the development of Arctic territories in the framework of a round table with the Norilsk Development Agency

Business and investment, the development of the urban environment, the implementation of social projects and tourism were the topics of the "round table", which was held in Murmansk at the site of the SDG within the framework of cooperation between the region and the Norilsk Development Agency.


The meeting was moderated by Svetlana Panfilova, General Director of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation.

"Today, the Arctic is a truly unique region in every sense, both in terms of natural resources and economic potential. Our region, as well as the single-industry city of Norilsk, occupies a key position in the implementation of the Arctic Development Strategy, " Svetlana Panfilova stressed.

The Murmansk Region is among the leaders among the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in attracting investment. To date, 19 projects have received the status of a resident of the Russian Arctic, the first and only Arctic TOP "Capital of the Arctic" includes five companies, which is why the issues of attracting investors to the region are at the heart of the meeting's agenda.

The experience of the Murmansk Region in the field of tourism development, attracting investment, and creating a territory of advanced development is interesting. This is the beginning of a good professional cooperation, I am sure that the work will be fruitful, "said the head of the delegation, First Deputy Director of the ANO" Norilsk Development Agency " Konstantin Gorbunov.

In total, about 20 issues were discussed at the round table.
