The International Arctic Forum The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue will be held in Murmansk on March 26 and 27

The International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue" will be held in Murmansk in March. The agreement on this was signed during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum last summer. Earlier, Governor Andrey Chibis initiated the event in the Murmansk Region.

The International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue" will be held for the sixth time at a new venue in the city of Murmansk on March 26 and 27. The choice of venue is not accidental: the Murmansk Region is one of the few regions of our country that is entirely part of the Arctic zone and is the largest economic zone in Russia and the world with a single set of tax and administrative preferences. I am confident that the event will bring together the efforts of government authorities, international organizations, representatives of the scientific and business communities of Russia and foreign countries to openly discuss the most pressing issues of sustainable growth in the Arctic region, which is especially important in the context of current geopolitical changes," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the International Arctic Forum.

The International Arctic Forum is a key platform for discussing topical issues of socio-economic development of the Arctic territories, developing multi-level, multilateral mechanisms for joint disclosure and effective development of the powerful resource potential of the Arctic region.

"The discussion at the International Arctic Forum on the sustainable development of the Arctic territories will draw additional attention to the challenges and prospects that Russia has in this region. Discussions on the development and implementation of best practices and innovative practices, the development of the Northern Sea Route and the formation of new logistics chains, the preservation of unique nature, support for tourism, the recruitment of new personnel, and the development of ways to improve government support for investment projects in the Arctic are coming to the fore. The International Arctic Forum has become one of the effective tools for the development of the northern Russian territories," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the International Arctic Forum.

"It is a great honor for us to host the Arctic – Territory of Dialogue forum in Murmansk. It will be held on March 26 and 27. One of the main topics will be the development of the Northern Sea Route in honor of the 500th anniversary of the development of the Northern Sea Route," commented Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region.

For reference:

The previous International Arctic Forum was held in 2019 in St. Petersburg and brought together more than 3,600 representatives of Russian and international political, scientific and business circles, the public, and leading mass media from 52 countries. 45 agreements totaling 69.8 billion rubles were signed at the Forum (taking into account the agreements, the amount of which is not a trade secret). The Roscongress Foundation will be the organizer of the International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue".
