In 2019-2024, the volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to almost 1.5 trillion rubles. This was announced by Governor Andrey Chibis as part of his annual report to the Murmansk Regional Duma.
"We have a high investment rating, we remain the leader in the number of investments and the number of jobs under preferential regimes," said the head of the region.
The Murmansk Region continues to demonstrate high investment attractiveness, maintaining a leading position in terms of investment activity among residents of the Arctic zone of Russia.
For five years of the existence of preferential regimes, the Murmansk Region has held the lead both in terms of the number of residents and the number of investments among residents of the Russian Arctic. Currently, there are 298 residents of the Russian Arctic, and eight residents within the framework of the first priority development territory "Capital of the Arctic" created in the Russian Arctic. The volume of actual investments amounted to more than 269 billion rubles, and residents created more than 5.8 thousand jobs.
Almost half of the projects of the AZRF residents are in the active stage of implementation, and 55 projects have already been commissioned. Investment activities cover a wide range of industries, including tourism, services, construction, logistics, as well as other priority areas of the Murmansk Region's economy. Since the beginning of 2024 alone, 101 companies, including individual entrepreneurs, have opted for the Arctic zone, having received the status of a resident of the Russian Arctic, which confirms the attractiveness of the region for business.
As the governor noted, the investment portfolio of the Murmansk region includes projects with investment prospects of more than 3.2 trillion rubles by 2035.
"The economy is the basis of people's lives, the basis of the funds that are invested in the social environment, and given the strategic nature of our region, developing this area is our main task. Despite the pandemic and harsh sanctions that have not passed us by, thanks to the active position of labor collectives, companies and the support of the President of the country, we are able to move forward," the head of the region emphasized.
