In the second quarter of 2021, the fourth peat boiler house will be put into operation in Umba

In the near future, Umba will completely abandon the use of fuel oil in heat generation. This was announced by the Deputy Governor of the Murmansk region Yuri Serdkin.

In one of the oldest settlements of the Kola Peninsula, a project is being implemented to get rid of fuel oil dependence: four new boiler houses have been built, which use cheap local peat and wood chips as fuel. Three boiler houses are already actively operated. Recently, we received conclusions on the compliance of the fourth boiler house with the requirements of the project documentation, energy efficiency and equipment of the facility with metering devices. Yuri Serdkin noted that the facility will be put into operation in the second quarter of this year.

The new boiler house is the most powerful of the four, it will provide heating for about 70% of the village's consumers (65 residential buildings). The use of fuel oil in Umba will stop.
