A delegation of the Murmansk Region headed by Governor Andrey Chibis is taking part in SPIEF 2026

A delegation from the Murmansk Region headed by Governor Andrey Chibis is taking part in the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It takes place from 3 to 6 June at the Expoforum Exhibition Center in St. Petersburg. The tracks of the business program are traditionally devoted to the challenges of the global and Russian economy, technology development, and social issues. The main theme this year is "Pragmatic dialogue – the way to a stable future." 

Andrey Chibis will speak at the session "Social Architecture Projects. Creating growth points for territories", beginning at 13:30. The Governor will talk about the implementation of the national program "Live in the North!", how the region has changed in recent years, what has been done for the northerners and what results have been achieved. A live broadcast of the session will be organized on the forum's website. 

The second day of the forum, on June 4, will begin with a business breakfast of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. One of the topics on the agenda is nature and ecology. The governor will talk about infrastructure projects and innovative solutions in this area, the use of the unique resources of the Murmansk region and how it is possible to maintain a balance between the economy, ecology and the interests of residents. 
 
On the third day of the forum, the governor will take part in the sessions "The Arctic for Life: Creating a modern environment in anchor settlements" and "Development of regions and Small territories: digital Opportunities and quality of life." The main focus is on how current programs and projects are changing municipalities for the better and helping to make the lives of Northerners more comfortable, and investments are working for people. Another important topic is the role of business in urban development. 

On June 5, a meeting will be held at the SPIEF site  The State Council Commission on the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic, chaired by Andrey Chibis. Traditionally, the heads of the Arctic regions, representatives of government, business, public and scientific organizations will take part. The main topic is a comprehensive project for the development of the Arctic and the Transarctic transport corridor.

In addition to the key events of the business program, the schedule of the head of the Murmansk region includes a number of working meetings. Traditionally, cooperation agreements with large companies will be signed.

Olga Vovk, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region, Alexandra Kondaurova, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region, and Svetlana Panfilova, Deputy Governor and Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, will also work at the forum. During the SPIEF, the delegation of the Kola Arctic Region will demonstrate the main advantages of the region and present successful experience in implementing strategic Arctic projects. The main goal of the work is to strengthen the position of the Murmansk Region as Russia's main outpost in the Arctic and the mainstay of the Northern Sea Route, attracting investments in the creation of modern infrastructure.

The forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation. Representatives from more than 130 countries have confirmed their participation in this year's large-scale event. The traditional plenary session with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will be held on June 5.
