The SME Corporation and the government of the Murmansk Region have agreed on the joint development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region. The agreement on interaction and development of cooperation was signed by the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis and the CEO of the SME Corporation Alexander Isaevich.
"The regional government pays special attention to the economic development of the Murmansk region. Over the past few years, we have managed to increase the gross regional product of the Murmansk region by 2.5 times. We are implementing major investment projects, but the development of small and medium-sized businesses also remains an important task for us. We have created preferential tax regimes, which have received the support of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation. As part of the strategic plan "To live in the North", together with the SME Corporation, we will continue to support small and medium–sized businesses in the Murmansk region. This applies to the tourism sector, catering enterprises, roadside and hotel services. We will develop a financial mechanism that will allow us to implement the planned projects and attract additional funds to the region," Andrei Chibis said.
"The agreement will allow us to continue our joint work, which has been going on for several years. Small and medium-sized businesses create comfortable living conditions and shape the economy of the entire region. That is why entrepreneurs from small towns who need support in terms of financing and selling products at the federal level require special attention. Entrepreneurs will have additional opportunities to attract the necessary financing with the help of guarantees, including the "umbrella" guarantees of the SME Corporation. Entrepreneurs will also be able to purchase industrial equipment on lease, become a participant in the programs of "growing" potential SME suppliers, - said Alexander Isaevich.

Since the beginning of the year (as of September 19), more than 300 entrepreneurs of the Murmansk region have received financial support totaling 1.8 billion rubles thanks to the national project "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises". Financing was attracted with the help of guarantees and sureties of participants of the National Guarantee System (NGS) and the program of concessional lending "1764".
In addition, more than 1.1 thousand entrepreneurs of the Murmansk region have become SME suppliers of companies with state participation as a result of purchases under 223-FZ. As of September 19, this year the volume of purchases by the largest customers amounted to almost 13.3 billion rubles.
