A working meeting between Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, and Nikolai Rogozhnik, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in St. Petersburg, took place in Murmansk.
The parties discussed the current state and new areas of partnership in the trade, economic and logistics spheres.
Special attention is paid to the development of a joint project to create a multifunctional cargo transshipment terminal, which will open up new opportunities for transportation along the Transarctic Transport Corridor and the Northern Sea Route.
"The Republic of Belarus is a reliable partner and a true friend for the Kola Arctic. There is active cooperation in the economy and the social sphere. In addition, Belarusian machinery and equipment – BELAZ, MAZ, Amkodor – are in high demand in the mining industry, utilities and transport sectors of the Murmansk Region," the head of the region noted.
Consul General Nikolai Rogozhnik emphasized the high level of trade relations, noting that there are significant reserves for its expansion.
"In 2025, the level of our trade relations is quite high, but at the same time there are reserves for growth, including new trade projects, fundamental cooperation and recovery. Therefore, I would like to discuss the possibility of your visit to the Republic of Belarus next year. I am sure we will be able to outline new prospects," Nikolai Rogozhnik said.
Andrei Chibis thanked the Belarusian side for the close cooperation, including in the field of training qualified personnel. The Governor emphasized that in the current international environment, strengthening partnerships with trusted allies is of particular importance.
