Andrey Chibis and Roman Chekushov discussed the development of port infrastructure

A meeting was held between Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, and Roman Chekushov, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Roman Chekushov paid special attention to the development of the Northern Sea Route. The ice-free port of the capital of the Kola Arctic Region can become an important point for routes to South America and Africa.

"Our task is to create new sustainable routes and logistics services for our exporters. We are talking about the development of the Baltic Sea ports and our northern ports. The Murmansk port is unique. From here you can walk to the South American continent and to Africa," Roman Chekushov said.

"As for logistics, you are right to say that the Northern Sea Route is absolutely in demand, and we will discuss this topic in detail at the end of March at the Arctic Forum, which will be held in Murmansk. We really have an important platform for shipping goods here," said Andrey Chibis.

The Governor of the Murmansk Region thanked the Ministry of Industry and Trade represented by Roman Chekushov for close cooperation and assistance in the development of the regional industry.
