The governor of the Murmansk Region works in Beijing. The head of the region held a working meeting with Vice President Mr. Liang Jie and Finance Manager Ms. Cheng Yangfan of CITIC Construction, a large and reputable company implementing large-scale infrastructure projects around the world.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation and areas that could become the basis for the company's entry into the Russian market.
"He also spoke about the opportunities that the Arctic offers and, of course, our Murmansk is a key, year—round, deepest and ice-free port in the Arctic. It goes directly to the World Ocean — without passing through international straits. This means no risks from unfriendly countries and complete security for trade and transit. Separately, the possibility of creating Russia's first portside bonded warehouse for a wide range of purposes for the needs of Chinese exporters was discussed. Its appearance will speed up the delivery of goods, reduce logistics and storage costs, and make the port of Murmansk even more attractive for international container transportation," Andrei Chibis commented on the results of the meeting.
The governor noted that partners from China have shown great interest in the project, and joint work will continue.
