Governor Andrey Chibis held a working meeting, during which he discussed with Gadzhimagomed Huseynov, General Director of the Port Infrastructure Development Center, the construction of the Lavna commercial port, and with Alexander Remeta, General Director of the Antey Asset Management Management Company, the implementation of the Professionalism project.
Hajimagomed Huseynov said that the construction of the port is in the final stage and is proceeding according to schedule.
Governor Andrey Chibis recalled that now everyone is united by a common and extremely important task set by Russian President Vladimir Putin - the development of the Northern Sea Route and the Murmansk transport hub, the key element of which is the Lavna port.
Lavna is a modern coal port, the first such facility built in Murmansk since Soviet times. The President of Russia personally gave the start of the first shipment. It is important that thanks to this project, coal transshipment will be moved from the city center to the west bank, which was one of the main requests of our residents. A significant contribution to the development of Lavna and the Murmansk transport hub is the built railway infrastructure, which will double the volume of cargo transshipment. Upon completion of the project in 2026, the port's carrying capacity will be 45 million tons, including 18 million on the new railway to the west bank. This is an important step in the implementation of the President's instructions to increase the carrying capacity and capacity of the MTU three times. Already in October 2025, the port handled the first million tons of coal," the head of the region emphasized.
Andrey Chibis paid special attention to the implementation of the important Professionalism project: cooperation between the government of the Murmansk Region, Antey Sever LLC and the Murmansk Marine Fisheries College named after I.I. Mesyatsev.
"Our long-standing partnership is producing visible results. Thanks to the company's support, we are actively modernizing our educational spaces, which allows students to effectively master both theory and practice from the very first days of training. Within the framework of the Professionalism project, we are also continuing our cooperation aimed at creating the Arctic Fishing Educational and production center. Our common goal is to train highly qualified personnel for the agricultural sector who will be in demand on the labor market," said Andrey Chibis.
During the conversation, they discussed the partnership of the Antey Group of companies in the Murmansk region in a number of educational and industrial projects. Alexander Remeta said that the planned recruitment figures with guaranteed employment of graduates in the company in 2025 amount to 409 people, in 2026 – 622 people.
"The implementation of the program will bring the company a number of significant advantages. First of all, a stable personnel reserve will be formed that fully meets the needs of the enterprise. The targeted training system will significantly reduce the cost of adapting new employees, which will have a positive impact on the efficiency of production processes. The social impact of the program will manifest itself in the development of the vocational education system and the creation of transparent mechanisms for the employment of graduates. The company will become an active participant in the process of training young professionals, which will strengthen the link between education and the real sector of the economy. A strategically important result will be the formation of a personnel reserve of qualified marine specialists. The company will receive not just employees, but specialists trained to meet business requirements and production specifics," said Alexander Remeta.
The meeting participants discussed the current status of projects, the fulfillment of mutual obligations, possible adjustments to plans and further steps that will help to successfully achieve the goals set.
