On January 10, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Young Industrialist of the Year award was launched, in which talented entrepreneurs, directors and chief engineers of developing industrial enterprises can participate.
Within the framework of the award, those whose projects experts recognize as the most promising for the development of the country and its technological sovereignty will be awarded.
The jury of the award includes Denis Manturov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Gutenev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as well as other reputable industry experts, leaders of business communities and development institutions. The award ceremony will traditionally take place at the International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom in July 2024 in Yekaterinburg.
At the award ceremony of the II All-Russian Young Industrialist of the Year Award in July 2023, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexey Besprozvannykh stressed: "Analyzing the projects of the Award participants, we realized that the future of Russian industry is in safe hands. Young industrialists are giving a lot of breakthrough ideas today. Large enterprises and holdings are interested in these products and technologies. By their example, the participants of the Award show the example of youth, what personal contribution can be made to the development of the country."
Criteria for participation: the total annual income of the company for all types of business activities in the previous year amounted to 120 million to 2 billion rubles, the number of employees – from 15 to 250 people, and the age of the award applicant – up to 40 years.
Anton Kovalev, Chairman of the Club of Young Industrialists, urged the Club members, as well as all young industrialists, to believe in their capabilities and be sure to apply: "The award identifies promising projects that are extremely necessary for the country, products and technologies in which large enterprises and holdings are interested. The winners of the Award are the real leaders of our time. They not only receive prizes, certificates of honor from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and membership in the Club of Young Industrialists. In autumn, the finalists participated in internships of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia "Federal Practice". And on the sidelines of the Russia Forum and exhibition, they presented their ambitious projects at a meeting with Denis Valentinovich Manturov and heads of departments of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, who noted that the projects would not remain without the support of the department. We see how the interest of the regions in participating in the Award is growing every year – the second time there were one and a half times more applications than the first time: 600 from all subjects of the Russian Federation, including new regions."
Maria Okulova, the head of the Award project, spoke about the procedure for accepting applications and competitive selection: "An applicant can fill out a questionnaire on their own with
the application of the project presentation on the website from January 10 to March 31, 2024. The participants are also nominated by ministries implementing state industrial policy in the regions of the country. In addition to the expert assessment, there is an open voting stage on the website within the framework of the Award, the results of which are taken into account in the special nomination. There will be a lot of prizes. The award, together with the projects of its participants, has become a breakthrough initiative that meets modern challenges.
