The Governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrey Chibis, presented the badge to 11 entrepreneurs who successfully implemented investment projects in the region during the award ceremony dedicated to the Day of Russian Entrepreneurship. All of them are implemented using the preferential treatment of the Russian Arctic.
To launch their business, entrepreneurs actively choose the preferential treatment of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, receiving significant tax and administrative benefits. This allows them to launch projects faster and grow their business in the region. To date, 314 residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation have been registered in the Murmansk Region, who are actively implementing projects in various sectors of the economy.
"The government of the Murmansk Region continues to support investors who choose the Murmansk Region to implement their projects. Each of the entrepreneurs awarded today has made a significant contribution to the development of our region by creating modern infrastructure and new jobs. I hope that more and more such projects will appear in our region," said Svetlana Panfilova, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region and Minister of Arctic Development and Economy.
Among the companies that have successfully launched investment projects are catering and service facilities, which make life more comfortable for Northerners, improve transport accessibility, develop a network of retail and service enterprises, and create new catering and hotel facilities.
Among those awarded the Arctic Investor badge are Pallada, which implemented a project to build a modern coastal complex for overexposure of cold—water aquatic organisms, and Port-Service Nord, which launched an enterprise for technical testing, repair and maintenance of equipment for water transport in Murmansk.
In the center of Murmansk, the Arctic Company has successfully upgraded the building for the modern Asgard Hotel, which has become a significant contribution to the development of the region's hotel sector. The volume of investments in the project amounted to about 110 million rubles.
"Almost two years ago, we launched an investment project, opened the Asgard hotel in the very center of the city, having invested more than one hundred million rubles in it. We have implemented this project as residents of the Russian Arctic, and we enjoy all tax and administrative benefits under this regime. This helped us to launch faster, and today it is a modern hotel that welcomes tourists from all over the world, and they return to us with pleasure. We are glad that our project was noted, it is important for every entrepreneur, and we thank the government team for accompanying us all the time," said the owner of the Arctic Investor badge, Executive Director of Arctic LLC (Asgard Hotel) Daniil Grebenyukov.
Special attention is paid to companies developing services in remote settlements from the regional center. For example, the Ivekta network of Arctic gas stations with roadside service complexes has successfully launched roadside complexes in Teriberka, Apatity and Kirovsk. In the field of public catering, projects of a pizzeria chain in Murmansk, the opening of a Georgian restaurant in Monchegorsk and the launch of a cafe in the village of Umba have been implemented.
In 2023, the Arctic Investor badge was presented at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum in Moscow, where residents of the Russian Arctic were awarded for their special contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.
