Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, held a working meeting with Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, in Moscow. The meeting touched upon the implementation of key investment projects, as well as the development of education and science in the region.
In particular, the issues of creating a world-class campus on the basis of Murmansk Arctic University were discussed.
"It will be clear in the coming months whether the application will receive federal funding. Denis Valentinovich actively supports us," commented Governor Andrey Chibis.
Earlier, a detailed plan for the implementation of the project was presented at the UIA Supervisory Board. To date, an investment project passport is being prepared, including technical and economic parameters, a financial and economic model and a draft concession agreement.
The parties also discussed the possibility of implementing a project for the production of raw materials for lithium-ion batteries in the Murmansk region. Since 2023, Kola MMC JSC has been working on a project to create the first such production facility in Russia.
In addition, during the meeting, they discussed the creation of a cluster-type ship repair enterprise in the region, which will provide shipowners of the Murmansk region with high-quality and modern full-cycle ship repair, and support for the initiative of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport on the issue of a training and production vessel with a postscript to the UIA.
