Murmansk region will receive additional financing for infrastructure projects

Governor Andrey Chibis took part in a meeting of the Presidium of the Government Commission for Regional Development led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.

Following the meeting, a number of important decisions were made for the development of the region. One of the main things is that the Board of Directors has approved the Murmansk Region's application for financial support in the form of budget loans within the framework of the Arctic core settlements for key projects.

"All selected projects within the framework of treasury infrastructure loans are socially significant, directly affect the quality of life of people, as well as the comprehensive and long-term development of territories. We continue the systematic work on the distribution of CFC funds. New applications were approved for the Primorsky Territory and the Murmansk Region for a total amount of more than 13.5 billion rubles. Most of the funds will be used for the construction and renovation of housing and communal services, as well as road and social facilities. It is important to increase the pace so that people see the concrete results of this work sooner," said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"The funds will be used for major repairs of the central swimming pool in Murmansk. The project documentation is undergoing state expertise. Additional financing will also allow for the modernization of Murmansk's main power supply line. The implementation of the project will increase its reliability and create a technical opportunity to connect new consumers, including the student campus of Murmansk Arctic University under construction," said Governor Andrey Chibis.

In addition, federal funding will be directed towards connecting to the networks of the residential complex "GloraX Kolsky" in the small Valley of Comfort. The project will be fully equipped with engineering infrastructure, which will also allow for the renewal of urban networks.

"I thank the Government of the Russian Federation, Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin, and Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Petrovich Trutnev for their systematic support of the region's initiatives. This is another step in the implementation of our plans for the integrated development of Murmansk and improving the quality of life of Northerners," said the head of the region.
