On behalf of Governor Andrey Chibis, an additional selection for the Governors Start contest will be held

Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, summed up the results of the competitive selection within the framework of the Gubernatorial Start business initiatives support program at an operational government meeting.

The Governor's Start program remains one of the most sought-after support measures among entrepreneurs in the region. As part of the current selection process, 195 applications were submitted, and 17 participants won the competition. The total amount of support provided amounted to 25.3 million rubles.
The high involvement of entrepreneurs was noted separately: the volume of co-financing from the winners reached 7.8 million rubles, which indicates the willingness of businesses to invest their own funds in the development of projects.
The supported initiatives cover a wide range of priority areas: creative industries, catering, consumer services, manufacturing, entertainment, and social projects. For the first time, taking into account the new priorities effective from 2026, a franchise project focused on solving social problems, the hearing prosthetics center in Monchegorsk, as well as two innovative projects and two projects from the field of tourism industries, are among the winners.

Four of the winning projects are planning to launch in the summer of this year, which confirms the high level of readiness for the practical implementation of initiatives.

During the selection process, entrepreneurs also received requests related to difficulties in submitting applications. The Governor thanked the applicants for their feedback.

"We see high interest from entrepreneurs and serious competition from projects. At the same time, it is fundamentally important for us not only to support the best initiatives, but also to constantly improve the selection mechanism itself. The application procedure will be finalized to eliminate unnecessary formalism and make participation as clear and accessible as possible. Our goal is not to complicate the process, but to create conditions under which as many strong projects as possible can be considered and supported. In early May, we will launch an additional competitive selection process to enable those who have encountered difficulties to present their initiatives again," said Andrey Chibis.

The additional competitive selection of the Governor's Start program is scheduled to be launched in early May. The total amount of the provided support will amount to about 24.7 million rubles.

The head of the region also instructed the Ministry of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Murmansk Region to work out changes in the application procedure to ensure maximum accessibility of participation and eliminate excessive administrative barriers.
