Today, on February 2, the new chairman of the Committee on Tourism Alexander Eliseev met with representatives of the tourist community of the region. The event was attended by Deputy Governor Olga Kuznetsova, who oversees the tourism sector.
"Today we have not just a presentation of the new head of the committee, but a discussion of plans for 2021. In a dialogue with people who work directly "on the ground", we want to discuss the problematic issues, " Olga Kuznetsova explained. – Today, our infrastructure cannot cope with so many people. We receive complaints about the work of the airport, about the amenities in Teriberk. These are small things that, at first glance, seem insignificant, but can spoil the impression of tourists. Therefore, the most important task for the year is to improve the quality of tourist services."
The goal that Alexander Eliseev sets for the team is to bring the Murmansk Region to the world leaders in the field of tourism.
"This is an ambitious task that we will be able to achieve if we work productively and continuously with business. We have grounds for this, there are points of growth. Today we will not only discuss the work plans, but also conduct a survey to understand which issues need to be worked out first, which gaps need to be filled in, " Alexander Yeliseyev said.
Taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological requirements, the event was organized in a combined format: representatives of the tourist community were present both in person and connected via VKS. The meeting gathered about 70 people.
