Today, a transformer for the substation was delivered to the construction site of the world's northernmost wind farm of the investor PJSC Enel Russia. To do this, we had to develop a unique technical solution.
The only possible route passed over the river Kamenyar. The load-bearing capacity of the existing bridge did not allow to safely transport the 122-ton transformer with a length of 7 meters. To do this, a new collapsible bridge with a length of 30 meters was thrown over the old one. The structure successfully withstood the overall load and the installation of equipment has already begun on the site, despite the blizzard raging in the Arctic.
"The work is carried out around the clock. The construction of a wind farm in the Murmansk Region is one of our strategic objectives, which will also allow us to diversify the region's energy portfolio, " said Stefan Zvegintsov, General Director of PJSC Enel Russia.
Now the investor continues to work on the construction of foundations, on-site roads. Power lines are being built that will connect the wind farm with the Unified Energy System of Russia. A medium-voltage cable collector network is being installed and work on concreting and installing metal structures of the main building of the substation, for which the transformer was delivered, is being completed.
