An analytical collection consolidating up-to-date information on the development of the global Arctic has been prepared by the Working Group on Ensuring Transport, Logistics and Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Arctic under the Commission of the State Council for Transport in cooperation with the Faculty of Urban and Regional Development of the Higher School of Economics.
The idea of creating a single collection covering various aspects of the development of the global Arctic arose as a response to the existing shortage of analytics throughout the macro-region, which occupies almost 1/10 of the total land area. In the context of increasing attention to the Arctic around the world and an urgent demand for comprehensive analytical materials, the publication provides answers to questions related to the development of key sectors of the Arctic economy, as well as changes in demographic characteristics and human capital of the Arctic states.
Part of the collection is devoted to the Russian Arctic: an analysis of the role and importance of the Russian Arctic in the country's economy is provided, cartographic materials are presented demonstrating the peculiarities of the development of transport infrastructure, in particular, the Northern Sea Route, as well as the peculiarities of the development of Arctic tourism, Arctic cities.
The collection "The Arctic in numbers" is available at the link.
