The gasification program will give an impetus to the development of industrial enterprises

The first question asked at a press conference by the Governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrey Chibis, concerned the most important project for the region - the gasification of the region.

"Regarding the cost of gas, it is important to understand that there are two prices. One is for generating thermal energy so that household expenses do not increase. The other is for industrial enterprises. And one of the key goals for us now is to develop existing production facilities through gasification and launch new ones. The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has set a task for us to ensure that this price is adequate and economically profitable. This requires a huge amount of calculations and elaboration of details. A lot of work has already been done jointly with Gazprom. According to the plan, the next steps are meetings at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the federal Government," explained Andrey Chibis.

The gasification program of the Murmansk Region, as well as the schedule of events for the first five-year plan, were signed in 2025. The gasification program includes 24 gas supply facilities, which are planned to be commissioned in 2031.

As of today, the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of the Murmansk Region, together with JSC Murmanenergosbyt, has prepared a technical specification for the inspection of existing boiler houses and determining the amount of necessary reconstruction. Inspections of boiler houses for conversion to gas will begin as early as 2026.

As a source of financing, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation proposed to consider the possibility of implementing measures to switch heat supply sources to gas within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". In addition, infrastructure menu projects with the participation of credit funds remain available financing methods.

Also in 2026, the government of the Murmansk Region and the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia will continue to fix gas prices for future consumers.
