Internships for participants of the Heroes of the North regional program have started in the regional government. The project participants are military personnel, mobilized and volunteers who have been awarded state awards for courage and bravery.
Participants of the special military operation Andrey Butkevich and Andrey Pukhov, both awarded the Order of Courage in 2023, who are interning at the Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region, as well as at the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, visited the Murmansk Region Development Corporation and studied in detail the single-window investor support system built in the Murmansk Region.
Artem Kuksa, General Director of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, introduced the participants of the Heroes of the North program to the areas of work of the region's investment team, and spoke about the projects that are being implemented in the Murmansk Region with the help of the Development Corporation. Currently, the Corporation's employees support investment projects worth more than 600 billion rubles.
A separate topic of the internship was the study of economic projects implemented by the government team within the framework of the governor's plan "To live in the North!". Earlier, as part of the training, Andrei Butkevich visited the site of one of the landmark implemented projects, the Lavna seaport, where coal shipments for export began this year.
"The investment project support system in the Murmansk Region demonstrates the high level of professionalism of the region's team. The comprehensive approach to investor support is particularly impressive, from initial consultation to project implementation. A truly effective system has been created where each participant in the process knows his role and performs tasks responsibly. This certainly contributes to the development of the region," said Andrei Butkevich.
The Heroes of the North program was initiated by Governor Andrey Chibis on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin on scaling up the federal Heroes Time project. The initiative is aimed at forming the personnel reserve of the civil service of the Murmansk region. The program was launched on February 23, 2025 and is designed to ensure the smooth adaptation of ITS participants to civilian life and help them realize their potential in the field of public and municipal administration.
