The preferential treatment of the TOP Capital of the Arctic is 6 years old

During the operational meeting, Governor Andrey Chibis said that today marks the 6th anniversary of the preferential treatment of the TOP "Capital of the Arctic", which operates in the Murmansk region.

"On May 12, 2020, the first territory of advanced development in the Arctic zone was created by a decree of the Russian Government. Today, this is one of the best preferential treatment regimes, under which 6 residents work, implementing major projects. The total amount of investments already made in the region's economy under the regime has exceeded 218 billion rubles, and 2,700 jobs have been created," the head of the region noted.

Among the main achievements, the governor noted the launch of a unique center for the construction of large-tonnage offshore structures in Belokamenka, NOVATEK-Murmansk, Lavna port and Udarnik Terminal.

"The launch of the first line of the TSSKMS project in June 2023 was given by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The plant itself is unique, and it has already produced 2 more plants for the production of liquefied natural gas. Last year, our President also launched the Lavna Port. And the Udarnik terminal has become a key link on the Northern Sea Route for the transportation of biological resources, and an automated freezer warehouse was introduced in February 2024," said Andrey Chibis.

The head of the region stressed that the development of the economic base for the implementation of projects in the Murmansk region is one of the most important tasks of the regional government.

"Murmansk is rightfully considered the capital of the Russian Arctic. Therefore, the influx of investments, including through the preferential treatment of the TOP, provides an opportunity for the active development of our economy," said Andrey Chibis.
