The Republic of Kazakhstan has shown interest in the logistics capabilities and port infrastructure of the Murmansk region

A working meeting between the Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Dauren Abayev took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.  
 
The parties discussed cooperation and outlined new tasks in the field of cooperation.   
 
"In 2023, the trade turnover of the Murmansk region with Kazakhstan increased by more than 4 times compared to the previous year. And we definitely have room to grow. The Republic of Kazakhstan has shown interest in our logistics capabilities and port infrastructure. We will work in this direction," said Governor Andrei Chibis.    
 
Murmansk region exports fish and seafood to Kazakhstan. Residents of the republic actively come to the region, who are engaged in the implementation of large projects, young people enter polar universities and colleges. Among the promising areas, the development of scientific and research cooperation, including student exchange; cooperation in the field of education and advanced training; joint cultural, sports and educational events; tourism was also noted.
