PhosAgro will allocate at least 160 billion rubles of investments for the development of production in the Murmansk region

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, an agreement was signed between the government of the Murmansk Region and JSC Apatit on cooperation in the implementation of the investment project "Development of the ore resource base of JSC Apatit (PhosAgro Group) on the territory of the Murmansk region.

The document was signed by Governor Andrey Chibis and CEO of PJSC PhosAgro Mikhail Rybnikov.

"Over the past 5 years, companies have invested more than 1.2 trillion rubles in production and enterprises in the Murmansk region. For the next 10 years, the region's investment portfolio includes projects with investments of more than 3.2 trillion rubles. This indicates the good cooperation that has been built between the government and our partners for the mutually beneficial development of the region's economy, and today's agreement with one of the key partners of the Murmansk region, PhosAgro, on investments of at least 160 billion rubles until 2033, only confirms this thesis. We provide comprehensive support to projects that modernize and develop their enterprises, providing jobs for Northerners and replenishing the tax base of the regional budget," the head of the region stressed during the signing ceremony. 

The investment project includes capital investments of Apatit JSC in the development of the ore and raw materials base of the Kirov branch in the amount of 160 billion rubles until 2033. During its implementation, in accordance with the Agreement, the company guarantees the preservation of the current level of employment at its enterprises located in the Murmansk region.

In turn, the government of the Murmansk Region will consider the possibility of providing measures of state support for the company's investment activities within the framework of current legislation.

The implementation of the investment project for the development of the ore and raw materials base of Apatit JSC in the Murmansk region will contribute to the socio-economic development of the region, expand the tax base of the consolidated regional budget, improve the environmental situation, develop the industrial potential of the Murmansk region, increase labor productivity and economic growth of the region, and also ensure the stable development of mining and processing and agrochemical complexes PhosAgro Group.

PhosAgro is systematically working on the development of the ore and raw materials base of the Kirov branch of Apatit JSC. So, in March 2024, the commissioning of the production horizon +10 meters of the Kirovsky mine took place.
