The Investment portal of the Murmansk Region published a digest of events for October-December 2022 that most affected the investment climate in the Arctic according to the regional Development Corporation. Among the main events in the digest, an increase in the volume of the region's investment portfolio to one trillion rubles in the next 10 years was noted, Governor Andrey Chibis announced this in November at a meeting of the government of the Murmansk region. According to experts, the region has taken a good pace in attracting investment, mainly due to the current support measures, the review says.

An important news for the region was the announcement that the President of Russia supported the project of creating the Murmansk transport hub. And also the decision to appoint Governor Andrey Chibis as the head of the working group in the State Council for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Another news that attracted attention to the Murmansk Region at the federal level was the launch of the most powerful wind farm beyond the Arctic Circle. The Government of the Murmansk Region provided substantial support for the project.

In addition, in October-December, the number of residents of the Arctic zone in the Murmansk region increased to 182, and the planned volume of investments as a result of their implementation exceeded 150 billion rubles. Residents plan to implement new investment projects in the service sector, ship repair industry and tourism in Murmansk, Kirovsk and Lovozersk district. In total, there are now more than 500 residents in the Arctic zone, while every tenth project has already been implemented.
