Andrey Chibis discussed issues of support for the Murmansk Region with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev

A working meeting of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev and the head of the region Andrey Chibis took place in Moscow. One of the most important issues on the agenda is the discussion of proposals that were adopted during the meeting of the working group on the development of the Arctic under the State Council Commission under the leadership of the Governor of the Murmansk region.

"This is extremely important for the further development of both the Murmansk Region and all Arctic regions. Already, thanks to your participation, a number of programs and tools used in the Far East are operating in the region. Now we are consolidated in seeking preferential Arctic mortgages, increased financing for the renovation of housing and a "Single subsidy" for the construction of social facilities," Andrei Chibis said.

The governor made a proposal to introduce an Arctic mortgage at a seminar-meeting on preparation for the State Council of the Russian Federation on the implementation of youth policy in modern conditions under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

BUT renovation is another of the most important topics. Special attention is paid to servicemen and their families in the region. The program is being implemented on the initiative of Andrey Chibis and with the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the federal government. This year, it is planned to continue the repair of apartments, overhaul of roofs and facades of houses, demolition of emergency buildings in the territories of BUT. It is also planned to begin the implementation of the second stage of the reconstruction of the Voskhod Recreation center in Nickel, the construction of an indoor swimming pool in Severomorsk, a House of Culture in Alakurtti and a 250–seat elementary school building in Pechenga. Earlier, additional funds of the Arctic "Single Subsidy" in the amount of 300 million rubles were allocated for the development of the renovation program. The plan proposed by the region was supported by Yuri Trutnev at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Commission on Arctic Development. In addition, 122 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for the implementation of the program.

The Governor expressed confidence that it is thanks to fruitful cooperation that more and more tools are emerging to achieve a common goal – the development and prosperity of the Arctic zone of Russia.

Recall that the working group on ensuring transport, logistics and socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation was created on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The first meeting was held on February 17, 2023 at the site of the Center for the Construction of Large-capacity offshore structures of NOVATEK-Murmansk in the village of Belokamenka. About 80 people took part in the event personally and via video link, including representatives of federal agencies, the Federation Council and the State Duma, heads of regions of the Arctic zone, heads of companies and organizations.
