Andrey Chibis discussed with First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov the results and prospects of the work

A working meeting between Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, took place in Moscow. During the meeting, the results of the joint work this year were summed up and priorities for the next year were determined.

Andrey Chibis thanked Denis Manturov for supporting key projects in the region, including the further modernization of Murmansk Arctic University – the creation of a world-class campus and the Arctic Center for Marine Engineering, as well as plans to participate in the creation of an advanced engineering school. Recall that Denis Manturov heads the Supervisory Board of UIA.

Andrey Chibis noted that thanks to the support of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Murmansk Arctic University is actively being modernized, including federal funds for its development.

"This year Denis Valentinovich supported our applications for Murmansk Arctic University to join the Priority 2030 program and create a world–class campus in Murmansk. Murmansk Arctic University also received an additional 1.2 billion rubles for infrastructure development," the governor said and thanked Denis Manturov for his attention to the region.

Recall that the decision to create a world-class campus in Murmansk was made by President Vladimir Putin this autumn at a plenary session during the Eastern Economic Forum.

Another key project is the modernization of JSC 10 SRZ, the oldest ship repair plant on the northern coast of the Kola Peninsula.

"After modernization, the plant will be able to carry out not only ship repair, but also shipbuilding," Andrei Chibis noted.

In addition, work will continue on the creation of production of active cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries on the territory of Monchegorsk. During the bilateral meeting, they also discussed further support for Murmansk Arctic University and the supply of ambulances to the region.
