AZRF resident opened a hotel near the mountain slopes of Khibiny

In Kirovsk, a resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation opened the first hospitality facility in the city with maximum access to the mountain slopes of the Khibiny. The company "Sokroma real Estate" carried out the reconstruction of the historic building in 1935.

The project was implemented under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

The three-star network spa hotel "Sokroma Hyperborea" consists of 45 rooms of various categories – from "economy" to "deluxe", lobby, there is a children's room and meeting rooms.

"As planned, the hotel was put into operation in 2023, the deadlines and requirements for the classification of hotels were met. The reconstruction of the historic two-storey building was carried out, increasing its area to 1,408 square meters. We took into account the proposed layout options, visualization and selection of necessary materials and furniture. I think that we have managed to comply with the concept, which was based on the legend of the mythical northern country Hyperborea. The motifs have found their embodiment in the style and atmosphere of the space, which reflects the uniqueness of our Arctic. Designers were able to find original solutions to combine history and modernity – the interior is decorated with art objects and thematic murals. The first guests were received in May, when the polar day comes, and we are waiting for the main stream by the beginning of the ski season. At the same time, we can accommodate up to 90 people, or 6 thousand people a year," said Daria Kovalevskaya, General Director of Sokroma Real Estate LLC.

Each apartment of the hotel has a living room, an individual kitchen, a sleeping area, underfloor heating and a bathroom, wired Internet, TVs with free access to online cinemas and the ability to order food in the room.

Blackout during the period of white nights, which will last until July, is provided by shadow curtains. The hotel also has a laundry room with modern professional washing and drying systems, which guests can use on their own. Equipment storage and drying systems are provided for skiers.

And those who come to Kirovsk in the summer will be offered to go hiking for rare minerals that are found only in the Khibiny. The Kola Peninsula is the birthplace of many precious stones, and it is also the only place in Russia where you can find eudialyte, which is considered a talisman of warriors and is nicknamed "Lopar blood" for its red color. You can get acquainted with the Khibiny minerals in the lobby of the hotel, where the exposition is located.

According to the owner of the hotel "Sokroma Hyperborea", the development of the project continues. In autumn, a SPA with a Russian steam room, a phyto-zone, a hammam and a salt room will be opened here. They will build a separate restaurant "Ded Borey" for 50 seats with a summer terrace and mountain views, authentic Arctic cuisine and a gastrobar, parking for 30 cars.

It is planned to improve and organize fair activities in the adjacent territory.

"Tourism is one of the leading industries in terms of the number of investment projects implemented in the Russian Arctic. To date, about 120 residents of the Russian Arctic have invested 37 billion rubles in the development of tourist infrastructure. "Sokroma Hyperborea" is another successful example in the history of hospitality in the Murmansk region thanks to state support measures. The project of the AZRF resident meets the concept of the tourist and recreational cluster "Khibiny", which is being implemented on the territory of the Kirovsko-Apatitsky district," said Maria Badmatsyrenova, Deputy Director of the Investment Department of the KRDV.

According to the KRDV, to date, the number of residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation has exceeded 600. Investors have invested 80.5 billion rubles in the implementation of projects and created 6.7 thousand jobs.
