The Murmansk Region Development Corporation and Murmansk Arctic University have signed a cooperation agreement involving cooperation in order to train qualified personnel in the field of economic and investment development. As part of the cooperation, students will regularly undergo internship at the Development Corporation.
Four students have already completed a summer internship in a regional special organization for working with investors. The third-year students studied the basics of evaluating the effectiveness of the implementation of investment projects and performed a number of applied tasks. They also took part in the preparation of lessons on investment potential for pupils of the center "In the North – to live" in the Kola district. As a result, students not only learned about the investment potential of the Murmansk region, but also acted as teachers themselves.
"Practice at the Development Corporation is a very interesting experience. We were faced with diverse tasks, thanks to which we were able to try ourselves in something new. We hope to come here to practice next year," third–year student Daria Mavrodi shared her impressions.
Previously, students-graduates of the Faculty of Economics of MSTU successfully completed their pre-graduate internship at the Development Corporation. In the future, they will have the opportunity to replenish the investment team of the region, said Artem Kuksa, Head of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation.
"Cooperation with educational institutions is the contribution of the Development Corporation to the creation of qualified personnel for the Murmansk region. As a rule, students show themselves well during practice, and are ready to take graduates on internships within the framework of cooperation. But it is not so important whether the guys will continue their professional activities in the field of investment development, they get valuable experience from us, which will become a bright point in their resume. And this is very important when you take the first steps in your career," said Artem Kuksa.
The signed agreement is a continuation of cooperation between the Development Corporation and Murmansk State Technical University, which has become part of a new unified university – Murmansk Arctic University.
"The first two streams that passed the diploma and production practice in the regional Development Corporation performed well in the exams. The most important thing is that thanks to this experience, they have an additional incentive and faith in their future profession. Another motivating factor is that many graduates of our two former largest universities, and now the united Murmansk Arctic University, work in such organizations. This inspires the guys very much," commented Svetlana Titova, head of the MAU Practice and Employment Center.
It is also planned that within the framework of cooperation in the new academic year, open lessons will be held at the Development Corporation, during which students will learn more about the investment potential of the Murmansk region. This summer, such classes have already been held for 200 students of grades 8-11.
