The awarding ceremony of 17 finalists of the regional open personnel competition "Leaders of the North" took place in Murmansk. Diplomas were presented to them by the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis.
"Both northerners and residents of other regions participated: this means that the North is attractive, and despite the harsh climate attracts ambitious people who want to realize themselves here. All of them have already proved themselves at work in other projects, are eager to grow further, and clearly understand what they will do for the development of the region. The winners will be included in the reserve of managerial personnel of the Murmansk region. Next year they will have to go through a training program. And we will keep them in mind for the replacement of the relevant positions. I am sure that the participants will find their place in terms of the tasks that they will implement within the framework of important projects for the region, including in the executive authorities. We will definitely continue to hold this competition, we will expand the range of possible participants. Not only for those who want to take senior positions, but also for young professionals. I wish everyone not to be afraid of their ideas and initiatives, not to be afraid of selection. We are ready to involve people in ongoing projects, but for this we need to see these people. This competition gives us an opportunity to show ourselves, we need to understand that a person is suitable. I wish everyone to dare and participate," the head of the Murmansk Region stressed.
Alexey Komissarov, Director General of ANO "Russia-the Land of Opportunities", congratulated the contestants in a video message. He noted that the Kola Arctic and ANO "Russia – the Land of Opportunities" have been cooperating throughout all the years of the platform's operation. Last year, Murmansk hosted the semi-final of the All-Russian competition "Masters of Hospitality", the regional championships "Ambilimpics" are held annually, and over 60 thousand Northerners took part in the events during the 4.5 years of the project platform.
"It is especially pleasant that the North has its own project on the initiative of the governor. I congratulate all the finalists and sincerely wish you to make the most of this competition, so that you have new like-minded people, friends, ideas, and opportunities for growth. Good luck, happiness and new victories! To live in the North!", – Alexey Komissarov emphasized.
Governor Andrey Chibis also noted that at the interview stage, which took place last week, contestant Maria Romanova received an invitation to head the regional Directorate of specially protected natural Territories.
"I was born and raised in Moscow, worked there for more than 10 years. Then she moved to Murmansk, falling in love with this amazing nature, and has been here for 2 years. As a semi-finalist of the Leaders of Russia contest from the Murmansk Region, I participated in the Leaders of the North according to a shortened program, but it was still exciting to pass the tests. For me, this is a challenge, an opportunity and a very useful event – we have an annual development program ahead of us. As part of the competition, we all got acquainted with a large number of initiative, interesting people, together with whom, I hope, we will develop the region. Stronger North is stronger Russia," Maria Romanova shared.
Alexander Zhikharev, a representative of the St. Petersburg Regional Resource Center, an expert of the competition and a member of the competition commission, noted that the participants have an intensive training program in the selected competencies ahead of them.
"In September, a competence model of the reserve of managerial personnel of the Murmansk region was developed. The multi-stage system of evaluation procedures includes personal and professional diagnostics, business games, interviews. This allowed not only to identify the strengths of the participants, but also the possible trajectory of their development. Next year, the finalists will improve their qualifications by developing and improving their competencies. Participants will also be able to implement their project initiatives for the benefit of the region's development. They will have a rich, interesting, practice-oriented program using various formats: traditional lectures, trainings, strategic sessions, business games with analysis of management cases and other forms of work," explained Alexander Zhikharev.
