The Ministry of Regional Development will allocate 4.2 billion rubles for energy supply for the western shore of the Kola Bay

For the energy supply of the western shore of the Kola Bay, the Murmansk Region will receive 4.2 billion rubles from the Ministry of Regional Development for residents of the TOP. This became known within the framework of the XII International forum "The Arctic: Present and Future", which started today in St. Petersburg.

Governor Andrey Chibis made a presentation at the conference "The Northern Sea Route. 90 years of Glavsevmorput: The experience of the past – at the service of the future."

"The base that has been accumulated over 90 years gives a powerful start for Murmansk as a logistics, international, very powerful hub. This is very important for us," Andrey Chibis stressed.

The head of the region noted that the creation of energy infrastructure will help our current and new investors to develop, who invest money in the economy of the Murmansk region and create jobs. Already today, the volume of investments, logistics and transport projects of the Murmansk region aimed at the development of the Northern Sea Route amounts to about 170 billion rubles. Some of them are residents of the preferential regime of the TOP "Capital of the Arctic". One of them is the anchor one – NOVATEK-Murmansk. The ongoing project of the Center for the Construction of large-tonnage offshore structures has no analogues in Russia. In fact, thanks to this, the world's first plant for the serial production of natural gas liquefaction lines on gravity-type bases was built, and the workshop for the final assembly of production modules was recognized as the largest in Russia.

In March 2022, another significant event occurred for the development of the Murmansk Region and the Northern Sea Route.

"The port of Lavna has become a new resident. This is the most important project to create a coal transshipment complex. Today it is being built according to the plan. The Murmansk region is the leader in the number of residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. All this creates jobs, improves the quality of life of Northerners and strengthens the economic climate in the region. I thank everyone who supports us in this direction," the head of the region noted.

Among the key projects of the Murmansk Region is the Tuloma sea terminal. The company is implementing a project to build a modern specialized bulk cargo terminal with a capacity of 6 million tons. The volume of investments in the project is 19.9 billion rubles, it is planned to create 249 jobs. Another significant resident is the Udarnik terminal. The project is aimed at the development of sea container transportation. The terminal is necessary for the maintenance of ships and the supply of fish products.

The implementation of projects on the western shore of the Kola Bay will become a driver in the development of the Murmansk Region, the Northern Sea Route and even the country.
