The Murmansk region took the seventh position in the rating of tourist attractiveness of the regions of Russia in 2024. The study, conducted on the basis of data analysis for 85 regions of the country, included a comprehensive assessment of the tourist flow, the level of infrastructure development and the quality of tourist services provided.
The rating results confirm the high potential of the Murmansk Region, which is steadily strengthening its position among the most important tourist destinations in the country. The region has become one of the leaders of the North-Western Federal District, second only to St. Petersburg in terms of tourist attractiveness.
The success is also due to the significant development of the tourism infrastructure: in 2023, the increase in collective accommodation facilities in the region amounted to 20.1%, which allowed the region to enter the top five in this indicator at the federal level.
The region is demonstrating impressive success in the development of the tourism industry, which is confirmed by the record number of visitors in 2023 – 670 thousand people. The region offers a variety of tourism opportunities and high-quality services, paying special attention to the promotion of local gastronomy, principles of sustainable development and active digital communication.
