The Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) summed up the results of the media activity of the regions in the field of innovation and investment for the beginning of 2023. The rating of Russian regions by the level of media activity of regional authorities in the field of innovation and investment is calculated in order to conduct a comparative analysis of the activity of regional authorities in the development and support of innovation and attracting investment to the region (taking into account their reflection in the media) on a regular basis
During the assessment, experts analyze the number of publications in open sources on the development of investment and innovation in the regions. To reflect the final rank, the regions are clustered within five groups in terms of the scale of the economy – by the number of economically active population. According to the results of the study, the Murmansk Region took 4th place in the category of regions with an economically active population of up to half a million people. Also included in the top five are Sevastopol, Pskov, Oryol, Sakhalin regions
"The leading positions indicate an active approach to these areas of activity, transparency, as well as the fact that the region is interested in investors finding out about it," said Rosa Semenova, head of AIRR projects.
