During the meeting in the Murmansk Regional Duma, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region – Minister of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk Region Svetlana Panfilova reported on the forecast of socio-economic development of the region for 2025 and the planning period of 2026 and 2027. According to her, the socio-economic situation of the region is marked by the stable operation of key sectors of the economy, as well as the growth of indicators characterizing the standard of living and consumer activity of the population.
The priorities of the Government of the Murmansk Region will be continued in full accordance with the implementation of updated national goals, new national projects, as well as within the framework of the priorities of the updated strategic plan "In the North – to live", the implementation of which will continue from 2025.
The forecast is traditionally based on the basic version, which provides for sustainable economic development taking into account the competitive advantages of our the region and orientation to new export markets.
The drivers of the economy will be the organizations of the extractive and manufacturing industries, the transport complex, construction, as well as social sectors, including those that determine the improvement of the quality of human capital, such as education and healthcare.
"In order to improve the living conditions of the population and increase the availability of social services, master plans and comprehensive plans for the long-term socio-economic development of key settlements in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation have been formed. In the future, this will contribute to the creation of new industries, and in general, to the growth of investment activity in the region," Svetlana Panfilova noted.
Over the period 2025-2027, the volume of investments will amount to more than 1 billion rubles.
Economic growth will also be supported by an increase in consumer activity. The positive average annual dynamics of retail trade turnover and the volume of paid services to the population will continue throughout the forecast period.
Real wage growth and a decrease in unemployment are also forecast.
As a result, GRP will reach a steady growth rate and by the end of the forecast period will exceed the level of 2023 by 13%.
