Over 4 years, Norilsk Nickel has invested 59.5 billion rubles in the modernization of its production in the Murmansk region. In particular, Kola MMC has implemented the investment project "Production Reconfiguration Program". This was announced by Governor Andrey Chibis during a meeting of the regional government.
The head of the region also noted a number of investment projects of the company aimed at the socio-economic development of the territories of its presence.
Since 2020, within the framework of additional agreements with the company, 36 projects have been implemented in the field of healthcare, culture, education, sports, territorial development and improvement of the urban environment of the city of Monchegorsk and Pechenga district for a total of 3.2 billion rubles.
"More recently, the Monchegorsk Polytechnic College and the Pechenga Polytechnic College became winners of the federal project "Professionalism" and within the framework of the educational cluster, the Kola Mining and Metallurgical will train personnel for the most modern Norilsk Nickel production facilities. This is also the result of our joint work with the company. It is important that these are additional investments of the federal budget and the company, additional employment of children. In addition, with the support of the company, a project is being developed for the construction of a new building of the infectious diseases building," Andrei Chibis stressed.
The Governor recalled that socio-economic agreements have been concluded with key companies of the Murmansk region, thanks to which additional funds are invested in the social sphere in cities and in the territories of their presence in addition to taxes. So, since 2019, 5 agreements have been implemented: with Norilsk Nickel, NOVATEK, PhosAgro, Rosatom and Eurochem. The Government of the Murmansk Region, together with companies, has carried out more than 100 measures aimed at the socio-economic development of the territories of the companies' presence. Total investments since 2019 amounted to 12 billion rubles, 62% of which are company funds.
"In the 1st half of 2023, the implementation of about 50 events continues. It is important that we have also started implementing new activities together with Norilsk Nickel. We plan to sign an official agreement for the next period in the near future, it includes a number of important events for residents, some of which are already at the stage of implementation, thanks to our partners for this," the governor clarified and stressed that in just 4 years the volume of tax revenues from organizations belonging to the MMC Norilsk Nickel group of companies" it amounted to 79.3 billion rubles.
In total, the company has already been provided with tax support in the amount of 2.9 billion rubles.
"We are very pleased that these benefits stimulate investment. Their total volume in the production reconfiguration program alone amounted to about 35.2 billion rubles. The increase in consolidated budget revenues from the implementation of the project after the termination of tax benefits amounted to about 4.9 billion rubles. From the point of view of providing tax preferences, this is a very correct investment project for us. Thanks again to colleagues for effective implementation," Andrey Chibis emphasized.
