Tax revenues from industrial enterprises in the region increased to 45,2 billion rubles

Powerful mining and metallurgical complexes have been created in the Murmansk Region, providing a significant part of the country's demand for phosphate ores, iron ore concentrate, rare earth metals, nickel, and fish products. The industrial complex of the Murmansk Region forms the basis of the region's economy. Olga Kuznetsova, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region, spoke about the development of the industry. 

The share of the manufacturing industry in the gross regional product reaches 33.6%. The Murmansk region ranks 8th in Russia. The share of the entire industrial complex in GRP is 47.8%. According to the scale of the industrial complex in the GRP, the Murmansk Region is among the top 20 regions of Russia.  

The volume of shipped products of the entire industrial complex in 2022 exceeded 1.1 trillion rubles – according to it, the region ranks 27th in Russia. 

The largest industrial enterprises are connected by the Government of the Murmansk region with a long-term social partnership. Thus, 5 agreements concluded by the Government of the Murmansk region with enterprises of financial and industrial groups were implemented: PJSC "Norilsk Nickel", PJSC "NOVATEK", JSC "Apatit", KG "Rosatom", JSC "Eurochem".  

Over 4 years, the growth of industrial production in the Murmansk region amounted to 10.9%, almost 900 billion rubles of investments were invested in the development of the region, of which the industrial complex accounts for 52% of capital investments. The growth rate of investments in fixed assets for 4 years was 116%. The Murmansk Region ranks 2nd in terms of growth in the NWFD. 

This year, the production of food products has increased by 1.2 times, the production of frozen fish, crustaceans, sausage products has increased. The production of apatite, nepheline and cobalt concentrates has increased in the mining industry. 

"Tax revenues from industrial enterprises for 6 months of 2023 increased to 45,2 billion rubles and amounted to 66% of the total tax and non-tax revenues of the consolidated budget of the region. For 7 months of 2023, the growth of tax revenues in all sectors of the economy reached 21.4%," the Vice-governor noted.  

Of particular importance for the development of the industrial complex are the adopted system solutions. Among them are the design of the Volkhov - Murmansk main gas pipeline, which is led by Gazprom PJSC, the establishment of a 0% VAT rate for organizations performing maintenance and repair of ships, the introduction of a specialized support measure for the ship repair industry by the Industry Development Fund, the solution of the problem of anti–crisis support for enterprises in 2022, obtaining the rights to use two lithium deposits in the Murmansk region and others. 

Cooperation with friendly countries is being strengthened. Within the framework of international cooperation, agreements were concluded: on the establishment of a pharmaceutical complex of SAFFARM LLC (Republic of India), on the construction of a repair and service center for large-sized equipment manufactured by BELAZ OJSC (Republic of Belarus) in the territory of the presence of mining enterprises, as well as on the replacement of more than 50% of imported feed for aquaculture enterprises in the region with Belarusian feed.
