The Murmansk Region Development Corporation will develop cooperation with the investment team of the Nizhny Novgorod region

The Murmansk Region Development Corporation has signed a cooperation agreement with the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation in order to share best practices in working with investors. The installation meeting was held on October 11 in Murmansk, at the Regional Management Center, as part of the working visit of the investment team of the Nizhny Novgorod region to the Murmansk region.

Cooperation between development agencies provides for the exchange of practices and mutual advice on topical issues of investor support and public-private partnership projects, holding joint events. The interaction of the two developed industrial regions will have a positive impact on creating a favorable investment climate, according to the Murmansk Region Development Corporation.

"The experience of working with investors in the Nizhny Novgorod region is of interest to us, because despite many differences, industry plays a key role in the economy in both our regions, and if you look at the GRP structure, it is the manufacturing industry that has a large share. The Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation is actively developing all available tools to attract investors, as well as the territory of advanced development in the Murmansk region. And today we see that thanks to the implementation of projects for the development of transport logistics, new opportunities for interregional cooperation are opening up. At the same time, our colleagues have many years of experience in implementing infrastructure projects for the development of socially important projects," said Artem Kuksa, General Director of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation.

A separate topic of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation's working trip to the Murmansk Region was familiarization with the transport and logistics potential of the Arctic. The colleagues got acquainted with the port capabilities of Murmansk and the western shore of the Kola Bay, visited the sites of the Murmansk transport branch of Norilsk Nickel and the future seaport Lavna. The investment team of the Nizhny Novgorod region also visited the site of an investment project implemented with the support of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation — the Kola Wind Farm.

"Colleagues from the Murmansk Region are a team of professionals with extensive experience in supporting and coordinating investment projects and public–private partnership projects, which are an important component of regional development. We are interested in the experience and cases of our colleagues in implementing infrastructure projects and attracting investors in the conditions of the specifics of the Arctic territories, which are not the easiest in terms of climate. In turn, we are also ready to share our experience in creating and implementing projects. We are confident that we will build an open and productive dialogue with the Development Corporation for the benefit of our regions," said Anton Garanin, Deputy General Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Corporation.

Recall that the Murmansk Region holds a leading position in attracting investments in the Arctic, it is the territory for the implementation of large-scale infrastructure, logistics and industrial investment projects. Investments in the region for five years amounted to 1.2 trillion rubles. In addition, the Murmansk Region is a donor of the best practices in working with investors. According to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the level of work with investors in the region is increasing every year and socially significant projects in the field of public-private partnership are being implemented.
