A meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus was held in Minsk

As part of the working visit of the Murmansk Region delegation to the Republic of Belarus, the seventh meeting of the working group on cooperation was held. The meeting signed a Plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2027, as well as a number of other important documents.

An important area of cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus is the supply of Belarusian equipment to Murmansk. Thus, the BELAZ center was opened in Apatity for a reason, which will strengthen cooperation in this area.

Cooperation has also been established in the field of construction and landscaping, within the framework of which experience is exchanged in the use of new technologies and directions.

Cooperation is also carried out in the agro-industrial sector (the supply of fish products from the Murmansk region to the Republic of Belarus), healthcare, tourism, and education.

"Today we had a great platform for dialogue. A number of our enterprises are engaged in the successful supply of goods to the Murmansk region, primarily BELAZ, which recently opened a service center in Apatity. I would also like to mention Belkommunmash, MAZ, Minsk Tractor Plant, Mogilevliftmash. All of them successfully export products, but I think that the volume can be increased. We also want to expand the list of enterprises," said Nadezhda Lazarevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

According to the first news, the proposal for a 5-fold increase was edited: "Today we discussed cooperation in almost every industry and in every direction there is potential for increased interaction. Our residents have a high demand for Belarusian products. In turn, we supply fish and seafood to the Republic of Belarus, as well as components for chemical enterprises. Today, a high bar has been set for cooperation in the field of tourism — to increase the volume of tourist traffic from Belarus five times by 2027. Nevertheless, I think this is quite realistic," said Svetlana Panfilova, Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region, Minister of Arctic Development and Economy, adding that an important task now is the construction of a marine terminal in the port of Murmansk.

Following the results of the working meeting, a number of important documents were signed: a plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2027, an agreement on cooperation between the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus and the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, an agreement on cooperation between the Minsk Tourist Information Center and the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region.

After the seventh session of the working meeting on cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus, a round table on the development of industrial cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus was held. Within the framework of this block of the program, Russian and Belarusian entrepreneurs discussed the possibilities and conditions for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, specific steps for strategic cooperation.

The Murmansk region was represented by the heads of mining enterprises (KGMK, Lovozersky GOK), fish processing plants, associations of fishermen and farms, and the transport industry (Murmanskavtotrans). The Belarusian side was represented by the heads and top managers of leading domestic companies: MAZ-MAN, BELAZ, Belkommunmash, MMZ, Belshina, Eurostroystandart, Sea Seasons, Belarusian National Biotechnical Corporation and others.
