Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus will cooperate in attracting investments

Specialized organizations for working with investors — the Murmansk Region Development Corporation and the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Republic of Belarus, have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of attracting investments. The signing ceremony of the bilateral agreement took place during the visit of the delegation of the Murmansk Region government to Minsk headed by Governor Andrei Chibis on November 22-23, 2024.

The agreement implies mutually beneficial cooperation for the purpose of information exchange and assistance in attracting investments, as well as organizing activities aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus. The document was signed by Artem Kuksa, Director General of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, and Dmitry Krasovsky, Director of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.

"The cooperation agreement with colleagues from the Republic of Belarus is to continue the work already begun with this country. We have prepared investment proposals for the region and, together with our colleagues, through the National Association of Investment and Development Agencies, we are distributing them to Belarusian companies, and we are working on a large investment project as part of the government team to create a terminal in the Murmansk region. Cooperation in the field of investment development with colleagues from the National Investment Agency is the next logical stage of activity," said Artyom Kuksa.

In particular, within the framework of the concluded agreement, the Murmansk Region Development Corporation plans to share its experience in implementing infrastructure projects on a regular basis through the mechanism of public-private partnership.

"The Murmansk Region has accumulated extensive practical experience in the implementation of infrastructure projects through the PPP mechanism in various fields, our PPP initiatives overlap with already implemented projects in the Murmansk region. Therefore, the experience of our colleagues is valuable to us," Dmitry Krasovsky said.

At the moment, several PPP projects are being implemented in the Murmansk Region, including waste recycling, construction of an aquapark, and modernization of heat supply systems.
