Andrey Chibis and Vladimir Potanin discussed socio-economic cooperation

A working meeting was held in Moscow between Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, and Vladimir Potanin, President of Norilsk Nickel, during which the parties discussed cooperation following the signing of an agreement on socio-economic cooperation.

As part of the cooperation agreement signed in September last year, another 10 billion rubles will be allocated until 2025. The agreement is the largest in the history of the Murmansk Region in terms of co–financing by private investments: 6.26 billion rubles are funds from Norilsk Nickel, 3.78 billion rubles are funds from the consolidated budget of the Murmansk region.

"The volume of tax revenues from Norilsk Nickel from 2019 to 2022 amounted to 79.3 billion rubles. During this period, the company invested 59.5 billion rubles in production in the Murmansk region. Since 2020, within the framework of socio-economic agreements, more than 3 billion rubles have been sent together with Norilsk Nickel to Monchegorsk and Pechenga district," the head of the region noted.

Andrey Chibis thanked Vladimir Potanin and the entire team of Norilsk Nickel for their productive cooperation with the region.

"We are currently working on a master plan for Monchegorsk and its subordinate territory, since the Monchegorsk agglomeration has been included in the list of the main settlements of the Arctic. Norilsk Nickel is actively involved in joint work. For this and for fulfilling all the obligations assumed, I am very grateful to the management," said Andrei Chibis.
