Governor Andrey Chibis and Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Board Vitaly Markelov held a meeting of the working group on gasification of the Murmansk Region. Representatives of the relevant departments of the government and the largest companies of the region, Gazprom PJSC, a branch of Gazprom Invest LLC "North-West", Gazprom Mezhregiongaz LLC and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz St. Petersburg LLC, Gazprompromgaz JSC gathered in Murmansk. A number of participants of the meeting joined the VCS.

"Colleagues, thank you for being here with us. Today we are discussing the most important investment project for the Murmansk region. Thanks to the entire Gazprom team for such a clear, detailed preliminary study. I want to state once again that in our region, with all the variety of large, strategic investment projects, the topic of gasification is the most important direction. With the support of the President, after a detailed discussion with Alexey Borisovich, the matter really went. And we see it, and we are very grateful to everyone for it. I recently spoke with the President, he was interested in how the process was going. I thanked him for his support and assured him that the execution of his instructions is being carried out according to the plan we agreed on. For the Murmansk region, gasification is an improvement in the quality of people's lives, since large funds are spent on fuel oil, we have a large cost of heat. A new type of fuel is a different technological level of the organization of the heating process, the development of industry. Subject to the gasification of the region, a number of enterprises have already announced the possibility of implementing new investment projects, factories and entire production facilities. Today alone, the forecast estimate of new investments in fixed assets exceeds 400 billion rubles with the creation of over 20 thousand jobs for qualified specialists," Andrei Chibis stressed, opening the meeting.
"Today it is very important for us to determine the projected volumes of gas consumption in the Murmansk region. This is one of the necessary conditions for adjusting the general scheme of gas supply and gasification of the region. And, accordingly, to develop a program for the development of gas supply and gasification of the region. There is a lot of work to be done. Thank you all for the fruitful cooperation," Vitaly Markelov stressed.
It should be noted that a gas trunk pipeline with a length of more than 800 km is planned to be built between Volkhov and Murmansk, most of which will pass through the Murmansk Region, and part of it through the Republic of Karelia.
Recall that the work on the implementation of the investment project is being carried out by the government of the region and Gazprom PJSC in order to fulfill the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated May 25, 2022 on the gasification of the Murmansk region. Since the end of last year, a number of interdepartmental meetings have been held, within the framework of which the plan of the route of the future gas pipeline was verified step by step.
