Andrey Chibis held a working meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg

The Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis and the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St. Petersburg Dmitry Mikhno at a working meeting considered the directions of further cooperation.  

 
"We have positive dynamics of trade turnover growth. In 2022, the turnover between the Murmansk Region and Kazakhstan increased 2.3 times compared to 2021, and already in the first half of 2023, the trade turnover exceeded the indicators of the same period in 2022 by 6.3 times. First of all, the growth was due to the import of equipment and mechanical devices, fish, food products, pharmaceutical products were exported. We see the prospect of further cooperation and the development of new markets," the governor said.

 
"We believe that we have a great potential to increase the volume of trade turnover. We are ready to work intensively in this direction," Dmitry Mikhno said.

 
In addition to close trade relations with Kazakh partners, Andrey Chibis indicated that it is necessary to increase cooperation on the implementation of large industrial projects in the field of technological support.

   
"Kazakhstan has a number of technologies that can be implemented at industrial enterprises in the region. There is also an interest in joint educational and scientific activities, in particular, it concerns the training of highly qualified personnel in engineering specialties and the exchange of students," the governor stressed.

 
Dmitry Mikhno, speaking about tourism, noted that the affordable logistics of air services gives an additional impetus to the development of cooperation in this industry.

 
"Our Ministry of Industry and Trade has also prepared a list of investment projects in which the Murmansk business will be interested in working together," the Consul General said.
