Andrey Chibis took part in the meeting of the Council of the Maritime Collegium in Moscow

Work plans and improving the effectiveness of regional Maritime councils were discussed today in Moscow at a meeting of the Council of the Maritime Board of the Russian Federation led by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President, Chairman of the Maritime Board, and Sergey Vakhrukov, Head of the Presidential Office for National Maritime Policy. Governor Andrey Chibis took part in the event.

It is noted that the principle of integrated implementation of the national maritime policy is determined by the Maritime Doctrine of Russia. Measures have been developed to ensure constant coordination of all participants in the process: the maritime councils of the coastal regions should play an important role.

Their tasks include ensuring the implementation of the priorities of the doctrine, decisions of the Maritime Board and its councils. Efforts should also be focused on a comprehensive analysis and formulation of proposals for the development of the maritime potential of the region.

The information provided by the regional councils will be used in the preparation of an annual report to the Head of State on a comprehensive assessment of the country's national security in the field of maritime activities, as well as proposals to ensure it.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, the head of the region, Andrey Chibis, noted that in the Murmansk region in May of this year, in accordance with the tasks of the Maritime Board, the Maritime Council was relaunched. Its creation is aimed at systematic work to strengthen the region's position as a flagship of Arctic development and the implementation of strategic objectives set by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The first meeting in the updated format was held in September.

"We have strengthened the team, expanded the agenda and outlined concrete steps: the development of ship repair, shipless logistics, personnel training, new projects in tourism. We will continue working in 2026. The plans include regular meetings of the Council in key areas for the region.: investments, the Transarctic Transport Corridor, security, regulatory framework, science, human resources and maritime tourism," said Andrey Chibis.
