Губернатор Андрей Чибис и представители компании «Норникель» обсудили развитие туристических объектов в регионе

Governor Andrey Chibis held a working meeting with Nikolai Utkin, First Vice President and Head of the Government Relations Unit at MMC Norilsk Nickel. The parties discussed coordination of actions in important areas of regional cooperation, as well as issues related to the development of the company's tourist facilities in the Kola Arctic.

"The tourist flow to the Murmansk region is getting bigger every year, and the interest is growing. Therefore, for our part, we are making every effort to develop the service and transport infrastructure – we are updating airport complexes and roads. As part of our agreement, we continue the comprehensive development of the Pechenga District. In particular, Norilsk Nickel has created and successfully operates the Valla Tunturi tourist complex, which is popular with guests of the region. Let's discuss further steps," the governor said.

Nikolay Utkin noted that the company relies on the creation of infrastructure and new points of attraction that improve the quality of life of Northerners and are of interest to the guests of the region, contributing to increasing the attractiveness of the Murmansk region.

"Thank you personally and the regional government for supporting the project. The resort has already been launched and is successfully operating. About 10 billion rubles have been invested in Valla Tunturi. There are a number of facilities, guest tents and cottages, a sauna complex has been created, and a new staff area. There are currently 42 rooms available to tourists. Additional work was carried out in the summer. Development will continue until 2029, including a large-scale upgrade of the infrastructure. The company will allocate about 5 billion rubles for these purposes," the first vice president said.

The plans include the construction of a hotel with public spaces and recreation areas. Travelers will be able to enjoy their stay in the North, fishing and crab safari, and active recreation against the backdrop of pristine nature. In addition, a pier will be created on the territory and boats will be purchased, new tents for recreation will appear.
