Investment digest: gasification, shipbuilding and housing construction

The Murmansk Region Development Corporation presented a digest of events that positively influenced the investment attractiveness of the region in July-August 2024. The collection contains appeals from officials, publications by leading media outlets, and expert opinions. In the digest, you can find comprehensive information about existing business support measures.

In July, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov supported the modernization of 10 SRZ, the oldest ship repair plant on the Kola Peninsula. After modernization, the plant will be able to carry out not only ship repair, but also shipbuilding.

In addition, in July, the governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrei Chibis, was appointed by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the post of chairman of the commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation in the direction of the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic.

Another important event in July is the launch of an Arctic—style gas station in Apatity. The volume of investments amounted to about 23 million rubles, and regional financing accounted for almost 50% of the project cost.

In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved master plans for the development of Arctic strongholds in the Murmansk Region. By 2035, it is planned to invest more than 4 trillion rubles in supporting agglomerations, of which 72% will be private investments, and more than 30,000 new jobs will be created.

Also in August, the governor of the Murmansk Region, Andrey Chibis, presented an updated plan "To live in the North" until 2030, within which the most important projects for the sustainable development of the Arctic will be implemented.

In August, another significant event happened for the Northerners: the subsidiary company "Airplane Regions", which is a resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, began to build a new residential complex "Kola Lights" in Kola. A project of this scale, implemented by a private developer, was the first in the Kola Arctic in 30 years.

And at the very end of the calendar summer, an agreement was signed on the construction of three more new residential complexes in Murmansk, Kirovsk and Monchegorsk. The total investment in the projects will amount to about 25 billion rubles, and their potential is estimated at more than 200 thousand square meters.
