Investment digest: the events that influenced the investment climate in the Murmansk region in the early summer of 2024 are named

The Murmansk Region Development Corporation has presented a new issue of the digest, which contains the most significant news in the field of investment development of the region. The main event of the beginning of the summer of 2024, which positively influenced the investment climate of the Arctic, was the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held in June. As a result, the Government of the Murmansk Region has concluded agreements on the implementation of investment projects in the field of mining, housing, culture and education. In total, the amount of agreements concluded at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum amounted to about 210 billion rubles, Governor Andrey Chibis noted. In addition, on the sidelines of SPIEF 2024, it became known that Andrei Chibis will head the commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation for the development of the infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic. The creation of a specialized commission under the State Council was announced by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin during the plenary session of the forum.
 
At the beginning, it became known about the new stages of the implementation of the most important investment projects for the region. In June, the Olenegorsky GOK development program was approved until 2040. The company expects that in 2027 the plant will produce four million tons of iron ore concentrate per year. In total, the volume of investments will amount to more than 90 billion rubles.

Polar Lithium has also completed the field stage of geological exploration in preparation for the development of Russia's largest Kolmozersk lithium deposit. The preliminary exploration data, which is currently being analyzed, looks positive," the company commented.

And in the port of Vitino, located in the Kandalaksha Bay, in June, raid transshipment was allowed. Now it is allowed to transfer cargo from ship to ship in the port when one of them is anchored. It should be recalled that Nordstar, the first resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, is engaged in the development of the seaport and the Vitino oil depot.

Also in June, it became known that the investment project for the creation of quick access sports clubs in Apatity and Kirovsk will receive a subsidy from the Federal Ministry of Sports, which will have a positive impact on its implementation. The project was developed by the Murmansk Region Development Corporation together with the regional Ministry of Sports and the capital's investor. 

The number of residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation continues to increase. By the beginning of July, the number of projects implemented using a unique set of preferences in the Murmansk Region reached 253, and the total pool of projects has exceeded 192 billion rubles to date. Among other things, the new residents plan to create an enterprise for towing ships in Murmansk, a recreation center in Apatity, a tourist base in Tulom, and a point of care for travelers in Teriberka. In addition, in early summer, the current resident of the Russian Arctic, as part of the development of his investment project, opened a new spa complex with a swimming pool, saunas and a salt room on the territory of the Izovella sanatorium in Apatity.
